How often is the cattery cleaned?

The cattery is thoroughly cleaned every morning with Safe4 (DEFRA approved disinfectant) and the accommodation is regularly checked during the day.

Safe4 is recommended because:

  • It is the only product in the veterinary sector with DEFRA approval against three orders in all four fragrances (Tuberculosis Orders, Diseases of Poultry Order and the Avian Influenza and Influenza of Avian Origin in Mammals Order & General Orders)
  • There is no need to rinse away with water after application as animals can come into contact with the disinfectant whilst still wet
  • It does NOT contain harmful Phenols, Aldehydes or Alcohol
  • It is NON-toxic, NON-staining, NON-tainting and a NON-irritant at all working dilutions
  • It is kind to the environment, as it is water-based and biodegradable
  • It is manufactured in the United Kingdom and efficacy tested by recognised UK laboratories

You can find out more about Safe4 from their  website here

Can the cats go outside whenever they want to?

Can the cats go outside whenever they want to?

All cat pens have a secure outside run which they can use at anytime. For cats that do not normally go outside we have pens that offer indoor runs with lots of space for indoor or elderly cats. These are 3 roomed pens.

The cattery offers a variety of pens to suit your needs. Standard pens can house up to 3 cats from the same family while larger pens are licensed for groups of 5 and 7 cats from the same family.

All accommodation is fitted with spacious UPVC sleeping areas, double glazed and fully insulated. The pens are also equipped with scratching posts, litter trays, stainless steel water and feed dishes, sleeping benches inside and out. Bedding and toys can be provided at no extra cost.

Please note that before arriving at Ali's Cattery, all cats must be vaccinated, wormed and flea free.
